ABOUT THE FILMMAKER

Addie Akina Knoll is a high school filmmaker from Park City, Utah. Her debut documentary, Constellations of the Sea, has received awards and recognition at 61 film festivals across 6 continents for its exploration of whale shark conservation in the Maldives.

Her latest documentary, Elegy of Salt, was filmed along Utah’s Great Salt Lake and explores the relationships people form with place through the stories of two men whose connections to the lake span generations.

Addie is interested in using documentary film to explore environmental issues and ways people relate to history and place.
